Room 13 families,
Whew! I can’t believe the first
trimester is coming to an end this Friday! Where has the time gone?! I am
looking forward to meeting with all of you to discuss your child’s progress at
parent conferences.
This Friday, the 9th, we
have our 2nd field trip to Crafton Hills College. We would love for
anyone interested in coming to attend, just make sure you have your Megan’s Law
clearance! Students should bring a snack with them, and like with our last
field trip, should wear clothing appropriate for being outdoors. Make sure all
permission slips get turned in as soon as possible!
Anyone interested in taking care of
Nibbles on the weekend? He (she?) is so quiet and easy to take care of. I
couldn’t even get him to come out of his cage this weekend! If you are
interested, please let me know, so that I can set up a rotating schedule for
the year. I will also need families to take him over both Thanksgiving and
winter break.
The Fall Festival is this Thursday!
If you haven’t purchased a wristband yet, Monday is the last day to buy them
presale! We still have a few open slots for volunteering available at our 4th
grade booth, so please check the Facebook page, or email Mrs. Childers to
volunteer! RebeccaChilders@verizon.net
This year ILCS has switched over to
Dollar-a-Day for fundraising. The money raised will be used to fund our 4th
grade fieldtrips, and any money left over will be used to purchase technology
for your child’s grade level. We have some really awesome field trip ideas, but
without the funds we will not be able to attend. Donating is super easy, and
can be done online through the school’s website!
With the holidays approaching, it is
easy to get wrapped up in all of the excitement and festivities. I was talking
with Mrs. Childers about our school, and the mission of ILCS recently. We are
so fortunate to attend a school that focuses on the whole child, not just test
scores. It is so important to me that our students really embrace the
leadership traits that we are all trying to instill in them, and to live each
day with these traits in mind. With that in mind, Mrs. Childers found a great
project that we could do with students in our class… no sew scarves. They are
VERY easy to make, and we would then donate them to a local organization. All
that we would need is ¼ yard of fleece for every student in a fabric of your
choosing! We will be making these adorable scarves next Thursday, the 15th
in lieu of a Thanksgiving party. If you would be interested in volunteering in
our class at that time, please let me know! http://www.crafts-for-all-seasons.com/no-sew-fleece-scarf.html
I hope you all have a very wonderful
week! -Mrs. Zieber Important
